GMC #17 - Wanderers from Ys - Feena's Premonition by Meits & Jorito

Close to the deadline of the Game Music Cover Challenge MRC crew members Meits and Jorito came up with a great idea: let's join forces and create a track together!

As Meits showed himself to be quite handy with a keyboard, they decided to use a piano as the focus of their entry. After some deliberation they chose the track "A Premonition", the opening theme from Falcom's great Wanderers from Ys. Creating the track was easier said than done, as Meits had to practice the song and even had to learn how to record his performance in MIDI. Jorito did some arranging and added strings, a harp and some woodwinds to support the piano. And a dash of Feena.

To create the track, a lot of deadline pressure was used, along with Meits' trusty Korg X5D which he recorded into Aria Maestosa, the first tool he could find with a bit of Googling and with no idea if it would work. Jorito then put together the track in Logic Pro with help of some sample libraries. Meits finally mixed the song in Sony Vegas.

So there you have it, a uniqie collaboration track featuring Meits on piano and orchestral parts by Jorito. Enjoy!
