Yeah I create this Uridium replay like I do with most replays, lowering cpu and use reverse in openMSX, it's a great way of creating a full gameplay for Youtube, so people can enjoy the full game, including the ending etc in it's full glory.

I also created a replay of Aleste, but it seemed something did go wrong, since when I loaded the replay, it was justa black screen at the beginning and only the ingame content showed up, so that is a project that will need a do-over for example.

But yeah in the end, lost of hours have been spend in creating these videos and I enjoy doing this.
For now I've had a few new requests for my videos, of which are menace and bounce mania.

Keep the requests coming. As a sidenote, to follow the updates on the videos and downloads on the website you can like CheatMSX @ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/cheatmsx

Nice collection of replays.. You always play without any blurring or (special) scalers?
From time to time I play with these settings, but yeah, I mostly revert to simple/no scaling, or apply just a slight blur (though SDLGL-PP creates too much blur already with a value of 1 IMO) because it's never quite to my liking. I do wish openMSX would have some kind of ('perfect') monitor simulation setting, or a 'monitor' scaler.. (next to the already existing 'TV' ) (which is too blurry for me). A CRT simulation feature request does exist however (some very nice examples exist), but I don't think that's high on the priority list, or there's a lot of motivation to work on it for that matter Smile

Thanks ren, and yes even when I stream on twitch, I use the default settings in openMSX.
No extra blurring or whatsoever.
Only thing is: Those gameplays are not as good as the ones I create for YT.
But live gameplay doesn't have to be flawless after all Smile

ren: it also depends on what kind of scale factor you use and which screen mode. E.g. scale factor 1 on full screen is blurry in textmode 80.

The settings I use look very much like my Sony KX-14CPI1.
(renderer: SDLGL-PP; every one should use that)
scaler simple
scanline 25
scale_factor 4
glow 20
noise 2.0
blur 30

In the uridium video the coder is missing one frame out of two.
You can see the problem watching at enemies: at full rate they should appear with 3 colors, but in the video they appear of two colors and something of the black overlay prevails

[edit]
I was wrong. It was the mobile version of the youtube player.
On PC you have the full rate and the 3 color effect works.

@manuel: cool, will have a look / try it out!
I did notice some irregularities in regard to display settings between SDL <> SDLGL-PP which I don't think have seen before (using dev build on Windows).. But I have to investigate further + compare with official release. Will let you know later.

Sure. There are differences, as not everything is supported on every renderer, as documented here: http://openmsx.org/manual/user.html#videoeffects
