Digital release of Inferno

A few years ago, Aetherbyte participated in the #msxdev Compo in 2012 with "Inferno", a platform game for MSX2 with support for MSX-Music. Back then the intention was to create a complete game but due to time constraints a version with only one level was submitted.

Now (or should we say since 31-12-2017), after many hours of development, the developers have made the digital version of the completed game available, with the promise of a physical cartridge release in the future.

The downloadable ROM can be bought at their webshop for 10 dollars, an amount that will be deducted from the price for buyers of the physical version, if they own the ROM as well.

As an additional bonus, both original and arranged versions of the the game's soundtrack are available for listening and purchase on Bandcamp.

I just ordered the digital copy. Looking forward to having the rom emailed to me so I can check it out! I just hope it's 720kb or less in size, or else I won't be able to write it to my flash cart, since I don't have one of those with an SD card reader on it. Wink

I just asked Arkhan, the ROM file is 512KB so you should be fine.

Perfect! I can even fit another couple smaller games on the same disk and make a nice multi-cart out of them. Wink Thanks!

The webshop doesn't make it clear how the digital download will be received...

But I found it in my spam folder on gmail...

In the waiting for the cartridge version, I've bought the digital version, and I've received it (with the pdf manual) via email.

It's Inferno weekend, during this weekend full live gameplay will be done on Aetherbyte's Inferno on Twitch by this Infernal Dragon! Feel free to join in at any time.

If a music disk is running, I'm obviously taking a small break, before another run is made ;)
