Great remake ! I specially like the Stage 2 music re-arrangement, and the fact that the levels, enemies and bosses are not exactly the same as the original MSX version, that makes news things to discover (like the rain and thunders before the 1st boss).

Also, I noticed that 3 shots are needed on the (P) power-ups to switch from "speed" to "shield". Is that a design-decision ? (or a bug ?).

Made to level 3, lost one life with the boss.

Then replaying with the boss with the arrows, I hit it many times and still he didn't die.

I feel that this boss needs many more hits than the original knighmare did, can the authors please review the boss difficulty a bit (or better, get it to take the same number of shots as in the original knightmare?).

Also, seems that there is only 3 or 4 continues, this games needs infinite continues or level codes...as it is very hard, the same as the original or a bit more.

While it tries to stay as close to the original as possible, there is some changes from the original knightmare.
One in particular is the enemy that throws bones, in the original MSX game, you need to hit it three (or four times don't remember) but here only twice. Can this be fixed please?

Also the knights that throw arrows take 3 hits to be killed on the original, they take 4 here.

Can the last weapon be removed, it doesn't add anything new or original compared to the original ones, and looks a bit big and out of place too, sorry Smile.

Another minor difference is the enemy apparition on the screen are distance based. That is they show up at the exact place all the time, whereas in the original knightmare, enemies show up in waves. When you defeat a wave of enemies, then the second wave shows up etc...

This can be taken advantage of by making a wave take as much time as possible by not killing quickly, then the next wave might not even show up especially if the player near the end level boss.

I don't know if it is possible to mimic the wave pattern of the original, that would be great if possible, but it is still a minor issue.

Those are not criticisms, the game is great. It's just my modest contribution to maybe fix some issues and make the game better if the authors want to release updates and fixes.

Hi guiseve ... You can find more info in ... http://albertodehoyonebot.blogspot.com.es/
"MSX3" is a project that wants to build a new MSX from scratch. It has a new compatible MSXBASIC, new MSXDOS, new MSXVIEW and other interesting features. Of course, "MSX3" is compatible with MSX,2,2+,TR.
This concept starts as an unique software layer compatible with many operating systems known, but I am working in the hardware layer too (raspberry + cartridge slots + device ports + 3'5HDD + others)
It's an ambicious project, very hard :) .. but .. I'm progressing slowly.

Nerlaska, this is really a great remake, but needs some more fixes.

I still can't get past the third boss...saying this, I would like to know if it is possible for you to mimic exactly the number of hits each enemy needs to be destroyed (not just the bosses) as in the original? ( and taking into account the weapon used too (knives, arrows, boomerangs etc...))

I would like to point some differences from the original:

When fighting the boss, there is in up limit that knight can't go past. (I can't for example collide with the third boss, as I can't go further up). This doesn't exist in the original knightmare, can this be fixed please?

The second boss throwing knives, in the original they were going in a circular manner and can be destroyed when shooting them, in this remake, they go straight vertical, no circular motion and can't be destroyed when you shoot them. Can this be fixed? It would give bosses more variety (something that made knightmare special as each boss had it's own patterns, and I still remember all of them up to this day).

Collision detection seems fine, but not sure if it is perfect when a weapon collides with the knight from behind.
