Introduced last year, Multiple IPS Archive (MIA for short) is a file format by BiFi, created to apply IPS files on disks that may have the files on different locations (sectors) of a disk. To create and apply these MIA files, one has to make use of the Multi IPS Archive tools.
More recently, the format has received slight updates and additions. Compared to the original release, version 1.1 now has:
- a disk switch feature, allowing application of patches on multi-disk file-based software. MIAPPLY now waits for a key press after asking the user to insert certain disk
- a rename feature, mainly intended to change non-hardcoded filenames that are part of (for example) a translation.
New versions of the MIA tool were made available to reflect these changes. More information about the changes to the format can be found in "mia-create.zip", the package to create a MIA file using tniASM v1.0
