One year ago Konamiman published NestorMSX, a very simple (and somewhat incomplete) MSX emulator. Now version 2.0 has arrived, and it brings two new interesting features: support for MSX2 emulation, and a full-fledged plugins system. Also, a collection of machines can be defined having each a different configuration, much like blueMSX does.
It is still a very simple emulator with text modes only and no hardware emulation apart from the VDP, keyboard and slots, so not really suitable for general use. However the plugins system may make it an interesting toy for developers. It comes with some useful built-in plugins such as MSX-DOS and Nextor controllers (using disk image files), by the way.
As in the previous version, all you need to run NestorMSX is a machine with the .NET Framework 4 installed, and the full source code is available as a Mercurial repository in BitBucket. So why not giving it a try?
