The shooters of Compile are still popular. Their shooters franchise became popular on multiple platforms, luckily some of them also got released for MSX. MRC user [WYZ] from Spain is one of the users who doesn't regret this. In fact, he's a big fan of the music made by 'Lunarian' Shintani for Zanac A.I.. And since [WYZ] is not a stranger to making music he made a good SCC + PSG rearrangement of the tune Celebration of Victory.

OMG! reading this post my heart have been set in hummingbird mode. (nectar! nectar!)
This ROM will work with an SCC ROM Cartridge in 2nd slot... or may be not.

Hmmm, I missed this post in the past. That tune sounds pretty good.
How about a Zanac with SCC sound and smooth scroll? Smile Smile

Zanac-Ex already has smooth scrolling and a more elaborate soundtrack.
Typical Compile music with SCC instead of just PSG or FM would sound weird and out of place IMHO. :)
(same reason Konami music with FM sounds a bit odd)

Well, I'd still be interested. Especially hearing the tune WYZ has made.
Of course you can always do a Quick 'N Dirty Zanac SCC version...

Doesn't even sound that bad actually :)

LOL that sounds quite like SID music. Smile

[WYZ] his cover sounds very [WYZ]-y (which is great) but not very Compile-y. Wink

@Hassink: d/l the ROM WYZ is pointing to.

Of course: Konami FM ;-)
(And don't forget the (excellent) VRC6 arrange ;-))

Yup, F-1 Spirit 3D Special's sound just lacks that "Konami MSX feel".

The VRC6 is very much comparable to a simplified SCC (with some obvious differences like the sawtooth).
Check out Konami's only game soundtrack using the VRC7 for sound, which is basically a curtailed OPLL.

(bonus: look for Shimoine's VRC6 work on YouTube. Examples here (Usas) and here (Penguin Adventure) and here (all kinds of Gradius/Nemesis stuff))

Yup, I'm familiar with, and fan of his work :-)
This channel has cut some of his work, and uploaded it as separate videos.
Another (excellent) Usas there (Gandhara Ruins), and Lady Kong from King Kong 2 (very, very nice cover).
I believe he might do some more in the (near) future.. ;-)

This is very great as well, but I mentioned that before.. :-)

I like them both :-) But I like WYZ's version more though :-)
