MSX USB & VGA cartridges in development

Poisonic found an interesting website of this Japanese hardware developer who is working on two MSX related hardware projects: An USB interface for MSX and an VGA-output cartridge for MSX.

The challenge of the VGA-output cartridge is to create a cheaper solution than upscan converters which provides better image quality in 80-column mode. On the project page you can find some technical information and a picture of the prototype of this cartridge.

The USB interface for MSX can be used for connecting a keyboard or a mouse, but the developer aims at implementing some form of USB Audio as well, which is already a lot more than this device which can only function as a power-chord for fans and mobile-phone chargers.
