MSX appears in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence trailer

Although we still have to do a major update on the MSX in the Media Challenge this one was just too cool to not mention on our frontpage. During the Tokyo Gameshow, Konami released several trailers for new Metal Gear Solid games.

As we announced earlier, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence is to feature the MSX2 versions of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. In the first Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence trailer, these two games get quite some attention, evening mentioning the three magical letters MSX. Although Metal Gear Solid trailers are usually worth looking at already, knowing that our beloved computer system got this much attention in one of the most highly anticipated game trailers of the Tokyo Gameshow really makes it an essential trailer for MSX lovers to look at.

Great trailer indeed. And mentioning msx in the trailer is nice, but I hope the game is easyer to play than mgs2 substance, I even could not defeat the 1st boss on that ship! Sad

Is that for sure? I thought that the MGS games were a LOT easier than the original MetalGears. At least, that's what I experienced. That is, as long as you play in 'medium' setting ;-)

D-Tail: the 1st mgs was easy to finish,but the 2nd (substance) is not that easy(or i'm doing something terribly wrong,it wouldn't be the 1st timeBig smileTongue ), just tell me how to defeat the 1st boss on the ship

what is the difference? trailer has parts of snake eater in it

Subsitence is for Metal Gear Solid 3 what Substance was for Metal Gear Solid 2. It's basically the "Metal Gear Solid 3 Special Edition".

About the first boss in MGS2: It can be quite hard to get a good shot at her. I always stay behind the larger crate left of the middle. Then I run to the left, hope I can get a good shot in and run back for cover.

If you have enough ammo, you'll get her eventually (I'm obviously not that good myself, heheh). Be careful, though: after a while there'll be explosions to run from too. Smile

Do as poke says, but first: take out the flashlight she uses after some time to blind you. A plain shot with your tranquilizer pistol will do. Next, shoot at the straps that cause the sheet to fold in the wind. It'll be blown away, otherwise, Olga will use it as cover.

When you've got her, don't forget to make a picture or 3 of her, useful for later in the game ^_^. BTW -- there's a lot more difficult part coming up ahead. MGS2 is always: take cover and shoot when you see an opportunity. And besides, start off in easy mode, to get used to the game Wink
