HispaMSX opens BBS

HispaMSX, the Spanish-language MSX portal, have just announced their new BBS. This great new feature should bring back some nice memories for many of you, and can even be accessed with your MSX by using the telnet client for Inter Nestor Lite. In fact, shortly after the HispaMSX BBS was opened, the author of the MSX telnet client for INL and some of the people on the #msx channel at rizon got together and did some tests, combining the good old MEMMAN TSR jANSI and the INL telnet client, which allowed for color telnet-BBSing!

Since the HispaMSX BBS is a TCP/IP BBS, it is not possible to access it by dialing in. The BBS was mainly intended for support to HispaMSX users, but is also open to other, non-Spanish speaking, guests. A few of the features of this new BBS are:

• Access to news bulletins.
• Access to MSX message areas.
• Access to file transfer area.
• Access to IRC networks.
• Read/Write Internet email.
• Play DOOR games.

Futhermore, HispaMSX BBS offers the following external services:

• Web interface to visit the BBS.
• FTP server linked to BBS file area.
• Gopher server, offering dynamic read-only content.
• An Internet email account with the address yournick@bbs.hispamsx.org, that can be managed from the BBS or from a standard POP3 email client.

Most of the BBS is available in both English and Spanish, so get ready to fire-up your telnet client, and point it to telnet://bbs.hispamsx.org On the off chance you don't have a telnet client, you can also visit the BBS via http by checking this link.
