On July 5th FCM, the company responsible for the distribution of the MSX BASIC for Robo-Education system will organize a day of lectures and demonstrations to promote the P-Con box. The P-Con box is - as far as we understood - a new educational system consisting out of a Robot and a system running MSX BASIC for Robo-Education.

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology have decided to experiment with this P-Con box system to see if high-school students improve their skills in basic computer-science, compared to older systems. If this experiment turns out to be a success, the P-Con system might be introduced on every high-school in Japan.

During the day there will be lectures of Kazuhiko Nishi (Former head of ASCII, now working at the MIT and MSX Association) and Yasuo Watanbe (The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology ). Of course there will also be various demonstrations of the systems' capabilities.
