Team Bomba have just updated their website, adding Bombed, the Bombaman level editor and opening the 'Maps' section. But, most importantly, after 5 years of hard work: Bombaman is finished! The long awaited game will be released this saturday on the MSX Fair in Oss. You can buy the game at the booth of Sunrise.

Bombaman will be packed in a DVD-box containing 2 floppy disks, a CD-ROM and a high quality printed manual. Apart from the Bombaman level editor (Bombed) and all Moonsound tunes from the game in MP3 format, the extra CD also contains a lot of Sunrise software like Blade Lords, Blue Warrior, KPI Ball and The Lost World. Despite earlier announcements, the Moonsound version of The Lost World will not be included on this CD-ROM.

You can obtain the Bombaman collectors edition for only 14 euro's. If you can not come to Oss, you can order this version using the order form at the Sunrise page, or by using the link on Bombaman HQ. The first edition of the game will be delivered with a simple manual, the real manual will be sent by mail to the buyers soon afterwards.

On September 28th the latest Bombaman promo was released. Although many things were improved since then, this promo gives a good idea of what you can expect when buying the game.

Great news. I did pre-order too, and as soon as I have the game I will work on some levels.

Unfortunately for the fourth time , there will no Moonsound version unless someone wants to put the musics into the Lib. file. I spoke with Peter Meulendijks but he doesnot see a possiblity to do it at least before the fair. I doubt very much if wants to look even to it. That meant for me the end of UMAX and asked the sourcecode which will be at our disposal very soon. Maybe Roman you can help us out my email sunhisan@euronet.nl.
It would be a waist to spoil the very good work of chaos for what I thank him very much , it is a pity ...
But as a small compensation for this we offer the fm version in a way that it can be used in an any emulator ! Also on the CD
Also we can guarantee the selling of Bombaman and Moonlight Saga !

Is it really as simple as putting the musics in a .lib file?
I suppose the moonblaster for moonsound player must be inserted as well, and that might require a lot of work. Or has that work already been done at an earlier time?

Hmm... since The Lost World was based on Pumpkin Adventure 3, I can imagine that it shouldn't be _that_ hard to insert the replayer. But then again, I'm no MSX coder, so what do I know Smile

Ow, btw... on behalf of Team Bomba: thanks a lot for all these congrats! It's totally awesome!!

The first edition of the game will be delivered with a simple manual, the real manual will be sent by mail to the buyers soon afterwards.

What does this mean? That if I buy the Collectors Edition from Sunrise I won't get the complete/high quality user's manual?

You will. they will send it later to you. By mail. I think it only goes for people who buy the product in Oss.

For people with sufficient knowledge of the library system used, it should take a day or two to get things going. But there is another little problem I told Sunrise months ago about implementing Moonsound music to the Lost World library. The music is most probably done with a later (if not the latest) version of Moonblaster for Moonsound, which includes quite some new features. These features are probably not implemented in the current Moonblaster for Moonsound driver used in the library, meaning the driver needs to be adapted for the library first... Meaning more work.

And to end with an addition to the first part of the very first line there are only 3 or 4 people with sufficient knowledge of the library system used.

Sure Bifi, but you have to know I am sick of it of people who make promises and have expirience with the system and sell you simply a hard NO and for that reason it also becomes personal for me as well. I think less than 4 people can /will do it.
But let not spoil all. I enjoyed the cooperation with Jorito , Jesus Tarela directly and Robert Vroemisse indirectly very much !

I can really understand that. I'd be really pissed too. Though you can't blame it on the whole community. You should contact the persons involved to solve things. Somehow, I might expect a mail or phonecall as well. Wink

congrats bombazzz.

Concerning the LIB system. It is a part of how the f-kernel works (yes, lost world was coded on the Midas-kernel aka f-kernel) and so is the replayer. We have released a kernel version including OPL4 driver for PA3 IIRC. Since that kernel version is OLD I think updating it would be a hassle.... I can't just replace the current kernel version either since it is not downwards compatible anymore (since version 2.41 which is not fully DOS2 supported and has new dynamic drivers... also for opl4)
Other problem is the new OPL4 driver.....

Building the LIB (or Updating it) is no problem at all.. so I could do that (I got the right tools, since itsa fuzz product)
I will look into it.... no promises.

eh, typo: version 2.41 IS fully dos2 supported (version 2.1 which was used in pa3/lost world just works on another level)

another thing: the LOAD routines has to be fixed too.Not even to mention the FRL (File Retreivel List) which holds all file entries....
this could be more difficult than any one initially thought.

Great news! Will Sunrise send a confirmation of pre-order or do we have to order again? I remember having sent a pre-order a few months ago but did not have any news from Sunrise...
(I am asking cause I will not be coming to Oss, to far and other things to do).

I recieved a mail from Sunrise, telling me that I should contact Hnostar for the order. Since I think that Hnostar has nothing to do with the pre-reservation of the Bombaman... what should I do?

Reply to Sunrise instead of publicly to this site.

As for the rest, apparantly Hnostar is the Spanish publisher of Bombaman, or there may be some misunderstanding.

Sunrise has some international dealers that sell Sunrise stuff in other countries. Hnostar does that for Spain, Ikeda for Japan. And... I have it from reliable sources (Jesus Tarela himself Wink) that he will sell Bombaman for Sunrise in Spain. So... the info is quite correct!

Addition from site
Hnostar has to do with the distribution and indeed not with pre-reservation.
So, we forwarded the order as simply as that.
We are also polite, to inform you about it and I believe it saves even costs .
Inside spain it costs less from city to city than from Holland to your city
For Italian users go to Enrico Barberisan and Brazil to Paulo Maluf jr
So that is all
And thanks grauw for your remark Jorito and I are busy enough
