Snout, could you link the site root instead of the maps' section? Tks.

you could put all the fairies in the maps, that would be real useful for replaying the game.

only_69: it would be nice if on your own site you could add linkable name-anchors to your news entries, and in your news entries add a direct link to said map. Smile
If I read a news entry on your site, I kinda expect to be able to go to the map directly, instead of having to look it up in WIP or Downloads myself.

Yeah, whooptie-friggin'-doo.
The first version was done by me, 6 years ago, and the second version is an improvement based on that by Fabio Albergaria.
You put it behind some pretty aggressive advertisements (of which the venues go in the pocket of, let me guess) and now it's some kind of thing we should think is some awesome new addition? While MSX Solutions is still true to its original form?
These kind of things sometimes really make me regret doing that stuff for free in the first place.

And yes, I say this both on my personal account.
So if anyone has a problem with this, I trust that it's stated here (you'll not get banned, we're not that harsh Wink ), or that I'll get an e-mail about it.

Advertisements have always been on the website, since it was ever launched back in 2009. Several websites in the community have advertisements on their site even MRC is using several techniques and there's nothing wrong with that.
Every website owner has the right to do with is/her site, whatever he/she wants to do with it.
The timed download is merely a protection which has been explained several times for the reason behind it.
People using webrippers, leeching all the way and I'm not the only one who's having these issues, other users on this forum mentioned the same issue before. IP banning or altering robots file ain't the solution. Got better suggestions, to fight off these people, then shoot away!
Been working for a while for an alternate solution, but so far it hasn'tt given the desired results, untill then current method keeps integrated.

"Webrippers" do not generally target jpg files associated with an obsolete platform, because there's not much to gain from that, and even if they would, there are tons of elegant solutions to counter that. But let's forget about it, and focus on the matter at hand -
It's what you do with it, Hydragon. It's a free country, and (partly) a free world. You do your thing.
MSX Solutions does their thing (I can download a huge map in 2 seconds maximum from there - just tested that). MRC does their thing. People do their thing.
I said this just to be clear. Do your thing, but just that you know what to expect. I wish you good luck.

I like the idea to have one place for hints, tricks, solutions, walk-throughts and maps. Indeed the advertisments on cheatmsc.com are annoying, especially the first visit can be very confusing and frustrating. Please keep the site going, but get the permission of the author to get the files online, especially when you use such full-frame ads.

hamlet, the content has been submitted throughout the years by the users themselves and credited accordingly, the website ran from beginning on advertisements, and the moment the alternate method for downloading is finished ( captcha > generating unique download link ( valid for 1 hour ), ip bound > with limit of generating links per IP in certain time ), will result in current method being removed.

I did some modding. MRC will report on nice additions to cheatmsx and we hope it will be original work with consent of the authors. Personally I don't like to get restrictions when using sites. Koetje: you should monitor if your adjustments indeed leads to a higher return rate of advertisements. If not, consider to remove it. When using interfaces, make it as easy as possible for your users. The more fun people will get, the more people will be willing to share their work.

Well Sander, a newspost was submitted, for promoting the new manuals section ( was submitted as well 2 months back, never appeared ) and also the new maps contributed by ANMA for No Fuss, solutions for all 60 levels! But I suppose according to what has been posted here earlier and got modded it's possibly been removed.

It was. Let's say, if CheatMSX has a huge update in some time, then a certain mean admin might consider making up for being mean, and make a big newspost about it. Wink
But he would require bribery such as meat, beer, and some other stuff. You know what the stuff is.

Also, here is Slayer with fart hands:

what about a bro hug and maybe if that certain mean admin is still playing nice he will be bribed with a beer, if I can make it to Nijmegen 2018 ( it's on my todo-list and saving up for it ). How about that? -looks forward to the newspost about just mentioned stuff-
