Paragon - Website opened

It looks like the Dutch MSX group Paragon are back in action. Paragon is well known for their MSX port of Rick Dangerous and their interpretation of Sim City for MSX, Construction Craze, which currently holds the 8th position in the overall downloads top 10 of the MRC Downloads section.

After the success of Construction Craze Paragon started working on a GFX9000 port of Dome, called Tara: Beyond Dome. Unfortunately this project was never finished, yet it went open-source in October 2001.

Today they opened the new Paragon website. Although the current contents are nothing but a mere placeholder and there is little known about the plans Paragon have in the future it is very likely we are going to see one or more new Paragon productions for MSX in 2005.

Maybe RAT was founded afterwards.
RAT was a great MSX club of 3 persons, it was a great time!
I dunno exactly how i contacted you anymore Sad
btw i recently was in contact with Remco Schrijvers of Moonsoft, he even did not remember my visit to him when i had troubles with my Panasonic MSX2+ and every music/game disk containing Moonblaster stereo music.
So i think i make not impact on people Tongue
maybe we see each other at the fair in Oss??
last thing i remeber of you is that you moved to Amersfoort.

I seem to remember RAT... didn´t you make that Shuffle Puck clone that had PCM-samples on a TurboR? Then it does ring a bell..

we made a MSX version clone of it with a ball instead of a puck, 28 levels and a amazing intro demo.
Rhe ball made some strange jumps and there was a story of it well at least we tried Tongue
You must play against 28 bosses with names like loek van qouten Tongue
named: Psycho-Ball (anno 1993 )

anyway, don't stop now and produce something cool! that'd be neat!

hehe...no harm done.. just came across as someone who wasn't interested in this stuff but wanted to add a sour note anyway.

The whole point of the site right now is to communicate that: yes, we're back and yes, that means something is to be expected. That's all we really want to say at this point. The site will definitely tell you more in the near future.
As for Construction Craze for GFX9000: not a good chance on that being made.. maybe a sequel in the VERY far future..

If you're going to do cross-development for GFX9000, you might be interested in GFX9000 emulation in openMSX which is rapidly being implemented right now. Implementation of P1 mode has just begun, but the bitmap modes are already operational. If you'd like to get a development build of openMSX to test things, join us on our IRC channel (#openmsx on irc.freenode.net). The same offer is open to other MSX developers of course.

By the way, our GFX9000 emulation code will probably be integrated in blueMSX as well. Not sure when though.

well, I remembered.recognized you almost instantly at Bussum, Abi , so it must be their fault Tongue Wink j/k

But I never had contact with demo groups back in those days, allthough I've been to Tilburg in what must've been 1993, since psycho-ball was new then... eggbert from fony was there as well....
anyway, no one who will remember me ...maybe from more recent years... from those 2 guys that are always hunting down old konami's everyone else already has ;P

i had troubles with my Panasonic MSX2+ and every music/game disk containing Moonblaster stereo music.
If you are still having problems, I think, that I can help you.

Basicly the problem is that Moonblaster loader sets bit0 at address #7FF6 in FM-PAC ROM slot and that disables a part of the ROM in A1WX. This is a bug in MoonBlaster loader routine. It should check, is the FM-PAC internal or external, but it does not do that.

i know, thanks anyway, hope that other Panasonic MSX2+ users read this. I have since 1993 a Turbo-R. (ok i sold it in 1997 and bought another i 2002 Tongue)
At the moment i had that 2+ it was new for Moonsoft, he could not solved it at that time, i am happy to see it is solved now.
