There is some version of cobol for msx?

I found some references to "alpha cobol" distributed by Sony.

Somebody know if it is true and where I could download?

Thanks and regards

I remember MS Cobol, too. Maybe Philips published it.
And I'm sure others exist (Russian software or CP/M version).
Search in Hans Otten website.

But... Does Modula 2 for MSX have some concurrent programming instructions?

Reactivaning a really old post, I remember in Brazil COBOL being somehow popular for some applications. Today I found out that 40% of all software running in the Brazilian banking system is still COBOL, due to the cost and time to convert it all to a new language oO

I have some insight info that there's still a lot of COBOL code running in US banking systems as well. Back in 2010 I was asked if i know any COBOL programmers with experience. I of course asked who would need a COBOL guy in XXI century and yeah, banking systems in US still has it. The recruiter who asked offered a $10000 bonus for a reference (which is ridiculously big, i wonder how much he was going to earn for that hire). But unfortunately i didn't know any COBOL prgrammers Big smile Then i thought 'How hard could it be to learn a new programming language?' and started looking at it. Holy CRAP! That's a horrible beast from hell! Nobody would want to learn such a language nowadays. Finally i have found a quote from Edsger Dijkstra: "The use of COBOL cripples the mind; its teaching should, therefore, be regarded as a criminal offense." and just though that no matter how much would be the salary i'm no going to study it oO
LOL!

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Good advice! Even a $200 / hour COBOL programmer to apply a fix once in a while, is much cheaper than a multi-million $$ project failure. Especially if success of a company rides on it.

LOL!

Back in the 2000 year due to millenium bug pain, a cobol programmer with experience (in italy) ranged from 3500€ to even 5000€.
Something like an offense to collegues that work with others more modern, and complex languages.
For comparison, actually in italy a good experienced/senior c++ sw engineer got a salary of 1.7k € :-(
