Nemesis is reported as a great roguelike game

http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/games/games.htm

It should be possible to run this game under msx2
but my knowledge of CP/M and on msxdos is very low.

Is anyone able to configure the game Nemesis for working under msx2?

Help!

;(

PS
ZORK1,2 and 3 in the same page work perfectly!!
nice adventures!!

what is the terminal closest to the msxdos ?

the choices are:

1 - Create new type
2 - Heath H19
3 - Televideo 912, 920
4 - Soroc IQ120
5 - Lear-Siegler ADM-3A
6 - Lear-Siegler ADM-31
7 - Perkin-Elmer Bantam 550
8 - Perkin-Elmer Fox 1100
9 - D.E.C. VT-52 and VT-100
10 - HDS Concept 100
11 - BEEHive 150
12 - Hazeltine 1500
13 - Intertec Superbrain
14 - Processor Technology SOL
15 - Scion Microangelo
16 - Teleray 1061
17 - Hewlett Packard 2621A
18 - Hewlett Packard 2645

and in case none of them is good, what should I do to define a new msx terminal?

it seems that 16 - Teleray 1061 is compatible with msxdos (at least the graphic test is passed)
I can create a player too, never the less the game itself hangs at start up...

The MSX follows the DEC VT-52 standard, with some customizations (like the arrow keys).

Teleray 1061 allows to see frames and test text in the termdef.com program
DEC doesn't show graphic correctly

Is anyone expert in msxdos? My feeling is that the hang isn't related to the terminal choice but to some other CP/M service.
I think it should be possible to have improved CP/M compatibility for msx
Is there any CP/M "emulator" for msx?

FOUND!
http://www.z80.eu/msx2.html
It seems that the cp/M 3 supports the game using termina settings 2) Heath H19

In order to play the game I had to:
1 copy the nemesis files to the cp/m vitual disk M: with the command msxtocpm
2 configure the teminal as above, using termdef.com
3 create my avatar running person.com
4 run the game with nemesis.com <name_of_the_avatar>

A true rogue game from the past !

Hi. I've been trying to find a way to play Nemesis (the roguelike, NOT the platform game.) I just discovered this thread, and pretty much nothing else anywhere on the web. So I joined the site just for this. I don't know anything about cp/m or msx. I've tried to educate myself but I'm not finding it very accessible. Is there anyone out there who could dumb down ARTRAG's instructions above for me? I don't know what he means by 'termina settings', and I don't know how to implement the 4 steps he's listed there either. Help!

@ artrag: CP/M is available for MSX, I have it on disk somewhere. Dont know which version though and if it is capable of running 'graphics'-modes..

The terminal is already set to be compatible with cpm3

just few side notes
-running from prompt "nemesis" without arguments hangs the game
-runing the game from disk b: and not for disk m: hangs the game
-once you die in the game, your character is dead also in the CHR file you have created. For new games you can only generate another player. If you like the rolls of your character, save its CHR file elsewere before starting the game.
-read the manual for commands: the interface does not offer any hint on keys and gameplay
If you want a nice trick to earn money:
- enter the dungeon,
- pick up the helmet,
- exit the dungeon,
- sell it earning up to 50 gold coins
- repeat the loop as many times you like
Once you are rich, buy some serious armor and weapon at the shop and defeat the game
