Green Beret - possible MSX2 remake

ARTRAG and Paulbrk have been busy little bees. They were toying with the idea to create a decent MSX2 version of Konami's Green Beret for MSX, which was a decent game concept but ended up as a failed English affair. In their initial demonstration you'll see MSX2 graphics (taken from the original Arcade), a full screen scroll and improved sprites. They strive to have the resulting game look better than the original, with all new graphics.

ARTRAG and Paulbrk won't finish this new development on their own though, and invite an enthusiastic programmer (and eventually a composer) to join their forces. If you are the Rambo of bits 'n bytes, do contact them! Green Beret for MSX2.. it's about time that happened!

I am gonna make all the graphics for the entire game if someone wants to code the entire game.
Artrag gives the base code of the demo to the person that will be the coder of the full game.

It is possible to do a very close pixel perfect conversion

Very cool demo. A MSX2 version of Green Beret wow! Ofcourse there are some little problems to fix, anyhow keep up the good work! I hope there is someone who wants to help Artrag and Paulbrk to finish this project.

What about 2+ adoption for super smooth scrolling?
Kinda bored with all the msx 1 stuff.... Too bad I'm not a coder nor a musician.

@Kuuno: what do you think an MSX2+ can do better here? Only thing I can think of is very fast scrolling (3px per frame or more), which is hardly needed in this game.

Well, when using 4 bits for the Y values (in YJK, resulting in 16 gradient steps) one can layer sc5 on top of it.. that could add some extra smooth sky 'n shades here and there..

Ehm, sorry I ask, but what's the difference between this scrolling and "super smooth scrolling"?
Have you noticed this project isn't MSX1 at all and scrolls smoothly using 'just' the MSX2 abilities? Did you look at it?
