Ultimate MSX Game Character Battle Brawl [finale]

The grand finale of the largest MRC megapoll ever has just begun! In the Ultimate MSX Game Character Battle Brawl we set out to find out which MSX game character would win a hypothetical one-on-one free fighting championship. What started with a request to send in nominations on November 11th, 2010 resulted in a massive list of 296 MSX game characters. After no less than 10 rounds of fierce one-on-one battles in our MSX Forum we now have our two finalists!

In the red corner we have Hideo Kojima's forgotten legend, Konami's goodbye gift to the MSX computer system and exclusive-to-MSX in his Super Deformed outfit: GILLIAN SEED of Snatcher and SD Snatcher. In the blue corner we find a blue haired girl who started her career in Microcabin's legendary Xak series, but soon used her powers and good looks to get her own spinoff with Fray - In Magical Adventure. It's FRAY! There can only be one winner in this tournament, and you are to decide who wins this virtual free fight tournament. The time to cast your final vote has come. Choose wisely!

With the official MSXdev'10 results just in, it's time to wrap up our poll on this contest and see what our visitors thought of this year's games. After exactly 50 votes, these are the results:

QBIQS (32%)
Heroes Arena (24%)
Zombie Near and Hans' Adventure (12% each)
Mission2Mir (8%)
NeoPong512 (6%)
Ratbox (4%)
DAQ Lord of Idar (2%)

An entirely different ranking than the official results, which only accentuates that what makes some might consider a mediocre game might be a great game to others (and vice versa). We of the MRC strongly recommend giving all the games of MSXdev a try!

I personally think it's a shame this has ended up with non system exclusive characters. It's a bit weak.
Maybe a new version should be launched with real system exclusive characters.
