From what I heard the first batch of Obsonet cartridges is about to be finished, it'll be a small batch though. Our patience will be rewarded, I'm sure
Ah thanx Snout! I'm patient, but also hungry for new information about this piece of hardware
its a good piece of hardware i would buy it as soon its there for sale
they should make a news reader for using on news servers
its an txt application so it would be fast and handy!
to share LEGAL software and music or gfx
or even the first MSX online games
like a nice rpg
or racing games
then you can challenge an msx'r on the other side of the world to play a game
i think it would be a good idea to focus on obsonet and for the ones who can dream assembly they should make allot of software for the obsonet
or a chat program like mirc for msx
that would be even cooler
or filesharing on a legal basis
and maybe a software combination between pc & msx so the pc filters out all the bull shit on the pages so the msx will not have such heavy load
and ofcourse a MSXforum runned from a msx that would be cool too.......
or even the first MSX online games Well perhaps the second online game... there was already one (probably the first? dunno) for the MSX years ago
or a chat program like mirc for msx
that would be even cooler
or filesharing on a legal basis
and ofcourse a MSXforum runned from a msx that would be cool too.......That's a question of one's definition/understanding of a MSX. Whether it should act as a server, comm-platform, as a gaming computer (w/ many additional and great features of course ) - or as the ultimate computer for everything
Uzix already proved the last statement I guess
But I personally don't prefer to let my MSX run 24h a day to provide a webserver It's too precious to me, hehe.
and maybe a software combination between pc & msx so the pc filters out all the bull shit on the pages so the msx will not have such heavy load/me thinks of the running? WILD servers
Any production news?
No news. The last news I heard (from Saeba) about Konamiman is that he has moved back to Mallorca. He lived in Barcelona during his study and also had a job there. He gave up or will give up his position as president of the AAMSX also if I interpret Saeba correctly.
I guess this move will keep him busy for a while with non-MSX issues, but Nestor is known not to give up! So we will hear from him without doubt sooner or later.
It's a pity the production still isn't started... I'm still very anxious to obtain an Obsonet cartridge.
There'll always be Sunrise, who's still working on their own NIC...
The first batch of ObsoNETs has been finished, and they are all sold out, so we should wait for more... :-)
Could you assemble it for yourselves if it came in a kit form?? (soldering and all that stuff...)
