GFX9000 Strange behavior

Hello! I am trying software for Graphics 9000 and I get a strange behaivor. Sometimes the gfx9000 screen output is black but if I turn the brightness up I can see the red colors and check that demo or game is working ok. Other times the screen output is ok. I have checked the cable and seems ok (I don´t move the cable during the tests). The cartridge connectors are ok.

What do yo think?

But I have checked the cable in deep and seems to be all well connected and solded and there is no cable touching other one. Checked with two TV´s and the same occurs. If I reset the Turbo R, maybe, the screen output is working fine in this chance. Without moving anything.

A friend just told me that there are gfx9000 boards without something related to RGB detection... or something like this. Anybody knows of to fix this?

cable may be broken inside, I had a defective scart cable doing exactly as you described to normal MSX. I have grfx 9000 too what do you do with it?

If you made the cable yourself you may also have messed things up. The composite/RGB/S-video signals share pins and wrong connections may lead to problems. The 'RGB detection' is probably the RGB status pin (18 on the scart), which should be properly connected if you want things to work.

I bought the cable with the gfx9000 from Sunrise years ago. Maybe is defective...

Oscar: I've been away for a long time, but I do remember that (at least on the old v.1 GFX-9000) you need to run a small init program to prevent it from being in superimpose mode. Some software don't do this init. If you touch the pins on the right side on the top of the cart (assuming it's a ver. 1 cart) you should see changes on the screen if it's in superimpose mode.

How do I know if I have v1 or v2 w/o having the cartridge? Any physical difference?

The first version is bigger, and doesn't have the plastic casing, it's just the circuit board.

I know it says it's for Video9000, but at least it's needed on my GFX9000. (I bought one of the first from Henrik Gilvad, the designer)
