THere is allready a MSX laptop made in 1989:

That's not an MSX, but a laptop which uses similar word-processing software as in the Panasonic WSX machines.

Well i got an 14" tft screen laying around.......... it was a display unit of an radar/chart plotter in full color ofcourse

Some MSX models had a battery case to run on batteries. So, all you need is a screen, and technically they were already MSX laptops in the 80s
