1- what is the year when you bought your first MSX ?
My aunt bought her children in 1988 (or 1989), as a Chistmas gift. I borrowed it two years later.
2 - Which model?
Gradiente Expert DDPlus, with monochrome (green phosphor) display MBW-12.
3 - How old were you?
In 1990? 9 years old.
4 - Did you upgrade to MSX2?
No, at that time, never. But two years ago I bought myself a Panasonic MSX2+...
5 - If yes, what year? Which Model ?
2012, FS-A1WX
6 - Estimate how many originals games (or software) you bought at this time (in '80 '90) ?
>between 5 and 10 - >between 10 and 20? - >Between 20 and 30? >more than 30?
I do not had any original software back then. Only copies.
7 - If you think about your first MSX, which title comes instantly to your mind?
Zanac
8 - If you think about your first MSX2, which title comes instantly to your mind?
Space Manbow
9 - Did you leave the MSX at a time? For which computer ? and when?
Yes, since that MSX wasn't mine, I returned it when my father bought me my own pc, in 1994. It was a 486SLC with CGA graphics and green phosphor monitor.
10 - Do you think your current job, have something to do with the MSX?
abso-f**kin-lutely! It was when I first discovered how fun computers are (not just the games).
11 - Please indicate your home country (When you bought your first MSX)
Brazil
1- what is the year when you bought your first MSX ?
I didn't buy my first MSX, I got it as a present. Around 1985-1986, I'd say. I can't tell exactly, I'd have to check some old home videos or something.
2 - Which model?
Spectravideo SVI-728. Or actually - does this count, but the very first MSX thingy was the SVI-606 MSX adapter contraption for the Spectravideo SVI-318. The senselessness of that thing was beyond description, so we returned it after a week.
3 - How old were you?
9 or 10.
4 - Did you upgrade to MSX2?
Not really - except that I got an SVI 738 X'press pretty soon after the 728, and it had the MSX2 VDP, meaning that I could play with the custom color palette registers in BASIC. And the 80 character mode. I got my first MSX2 Philips NMS 8255 much later in the 2000s, but the exact year is debated. I am too old, I can't even remember what DECADE it was, but Marq says it was even as late as 2008. Hard to believe?
6 - Estimate how many originals games (or software) you bought at this time (in '80 '90) ?
Around 15 games, and some shareware stuff. My main use for the X'press was BASIC programming.
7 - If you think about your first MSX, which title comes instantly to your mind?
F1 Spirit for the 738... but it wasn't the first one. The first one was "Emerald Isle". Or if the SVI MSX adapter counts, then the very first game was Flight Path 737 - which was a totally insane experience, first for a kid my age but especially because of the "adapter" which was a crazy thing. The English text adventures were also "quite" hard.
8 - If you think about your first MSX2, which title comes instantly to your mind?
Nothing really! It was just the machine, and I bought it because in the 80s I always wanted a big PC style MSX2 with a detachable keyboard, and all those nice graphics modes. (and because I thought it was cheap)
9 - Did you leave the MSX at a time? For which computer ? and when?
Yes. I had kept all of my MSX stuff until 1994-1995, and then I sold them away... only 2 years before Marq and XXXXX founded Lieves!Tuore. Stupid me. Back then I had a 486 PC and Gravis Ultrasound, and the retro 8 bit tinkering fun hadn't kicked in yet.
10 - Do you think your current job, have something to do with the MSX?

I still have all of them and they still work. I 'left' MSX for an Amiga 2000 begin '90s. But they always stood next to eachother (as they currently still do in my man cave).
10 - Do you think your current job, have something to do with the MSX?
I learned programming on MSX (basic, asm, pascal, c), I learned basic hardware on MSX, I learned getting the most out of a computer on MSX. Those things I use in my work as a programmer and manager of programmers. And I do want to do something with MSX again when I have more time, especially now that there is Symbos and a way to write applications for it, I believe it can come back to some form of actual productivity
