Now that I'm developing I like to see games very closely to study how it's made, and after a while giving this game I see a really master job. It's amazing the copying speed they have achieved in the characters and the hard work making all animations for the characters.

Congratulations to the authors, a master piece.

Yes indeed, a great job done. I was looking back in the original street fighter conversion topic by Norakomi, its nice to see that many people from the msx community contributed bits and pieces to it... discussing/finding techniques, experiments, ideas... I forgot that I wrote that much crap there myself heheh..

Anyway you can roughly figure out how its done by reading that thread, since most of it is discussed (at least the graphical part, for a game as complex as a fighting game, lots of work has to be done in the game engine as well)

Btw I am like you, started to work on my game again and been studying many games (thus getting overloaded with new awesome ideas! Big smile )

It's great how a surge of software development 'near you' motivates more coding =) (like an msxdev contest for us msx peepz)

Congratulations to the team for this miracle! So it's doable on a plain MSX2: quite an intensive work behind this, visibly. Playability is total, it's very elegant. Big smile
Btw, any chance of getting it to work on a Playsoniq? Has someone managed to?

Here goes a proposal: crowfunding to see game finished, this is, the 12 fighters of the original arcade.

I think crowdfunding is a great idea. Smile But I also expect to see Young Lee from Yie Ar Kung Fu as a fighter (maybe hidden) in this game as well. Smile

I agree with the crowfunding, although I prefer to return to the original beta menu artwork and title. Come on, 2015, MSX... nobody at Capcom even remebers our machines. Then I could buy a physical release Smile

I think that whoever finished this great port did the right thing and right work. While I in the end completely forgot to vote for the MSX compo @ Nijmegen my vote would have gone to pointless fighting as well. While I don't have high affinity towards street fighter myself I find that pointless fighting has: great artwork, great coding and all it takes to be a good MSX2 title. It took alot of time and alot of developers but the result is there to be.

I hope that in the future this project will be continued by the same way it continued before and eventually all fighters will make it in. Pointless fighting shows what a MSX2 can do and how much we love these kind of great quality productions.

They once knew quite well. But I indeed doubt if lots of guys of the new generation working there does. Smile
