I think it would be nice if besides MSX-Music ROM/BIOS GR8NET would also include the MSX-Audio ROM/BIOS. I am not sure how difficult/easy this would be, could GR8NET use one of these, possibly with some modifications? Maybe have it in a new mapper (similar to 24 with MSX-Music ROM but then with MSX-Audio ROM).

My main question here will be why? What is the value of it? How many people or software uses (will use) it? As I understand MSX-Audio ROM involves complex mapper, and this may be a design hassle.

Now GR8NET is having built-in PSG, and VAREXPRT/VARIMPRT commands to save and restore configuration after update. Manual now has BASIC command reference at the beginning (without links though, use ^F). New FPGA firmware, flash chip firmware and manual are uploaded to the site. Feedback is welcome as usual.

Really the update I was waiting for, now it is really complete, thank you Eugeny Smile

Well there is plenty Compile and Namco games that use MSX-Audio if detected properly (which van be faked through SofaRun but does not work for all games). I don’t know about the mapper but the original ROM was a plain 32kB so why would it need a mapper? Although it may have been implemented with a mapper of course, I don’t have the knowledge to check that... also not sure if other people agree on that this is a nice thing to have.

I have a question about PSG support. Is there an easy guide to enable the PSG?

_netgetpsg tells 'to be: enabled' and 'active: no'. What is the condition to get it active?

_netgetmix shows the PSG as muted. _netsetmix(4095) does not unmute the PSG.
_netcfg does not allow to set a value above 1023 for the mixer value.
_netcfg shows a multimedia bitmap of 64. I changed it to 0 and later back to 64 to see if that would help.
Of course after configuration I did execute _netsave and restarted the machine.

I use the GR8NET on a one chip MSX.

Ey Erik, sorry but I couldn't help but notice: are you the author of the ERIX terminal for MSX? I used ERIX quite a lot with my Sunrise IDE+RS232 combo, connecting to Linux machines and sending files through ZMODEM protocol. Thank you so much for your work! (if you are the author)

The GR8NET integrates a lightning fast ANSI color telnet client useful for connecting to Internet BBSes, but it lacks any means of transferring files. Would it be possible to integrate transfer protocols such as XMODEM, YMODEM or ZMODEM from ERIX into the telnet client of GR8NET?

I might add GR8NET support to ERIX but this will take some time. I think I found my last sources and already changed them to cross-compile.

Yes! I forgot to update the engine. Before I only updated the flash but not the engine.

What good cause additional 14 MB of flash space can be used for?
As "backend" storage (not so fast to be used by CPU directly, and not frequently writable).
