What good cause additional 14 MB of flash space can be used for?
As "backend" storage (not so fast to be used by CPU directly, and not frequently writable).

Thank you, viable idea, will work only if Disk-ROM is in the system, and will be subject to all issues related to it 
For example, it can be presented in DOS1 as floppy (e.g. when GR8NET DOS1 disk ROM is enabled), but it will "eat" some top RAM (thus must be able to be switched off), and in this case GR8NET RAM disk with image loaded from internet can be used.
If in the Nextor environment, there's SD-card which may have the same functionality...
Thus a kind of duplicating (with some variation) something being already in there.
I am not putting down the suggestion, I am trying to evaluate it in terms of usefulness and implementation effort. We will anyway re-evaluate it later when choosing what to do.

As I mentioned before, a smb shared romdisk, in which you can put something like symbos or use it to put in a config menu and add/change a bootup image/animation or put a text version of the manual in there with a searchbox.
Or a text html browser, or... create a space which is sharable for every gr8net user to see, like a private intergr8net network.
