Here my testing with the new firmware Ver 0.10 and MGS.
IMHO the GR8NET owns the best sound capabilities for MSX without FM or SCC.
Good Job, Eugeny.
No, you can go directly to 0.10. There was special procedure to update from 0.7 to 0.8.
Thanks, Eugeny!
Nice to see it running MGSel, too, thanks @alexito!
Today I have unexpectedly found out that GR8NET boots off GR8cloud in a couple of seconds now. It is because Nextor 2.1.0 does not read the directory at the initialization of the volume any more. Thanks to Konamiman!
Hello, I'm unable to upldate my GR8Net, in fact it has reached an inconsistent state I think. I'm using online method to update firmware and FPGA following steps in the manual and this is the result:
1.- Firmware updated successfully.
2.- FPGA update not possible by any way, allways get "Device I/O error".
- If I try to navigate Internet with _NETBROWSE -> Device I/O error
- If I try to get file directly with _NETBLOAD -> Devive I/O error
- If I copy gr8net-fpga-reg.bin to the SD, use _NETBROWSE to navigate throught SD and select file -> Device I/O error.
What can I do?

I hope you got floppy or another storage interface - then you can download this bunch of files and run the update. This kind of update doesn't require device firmware to be in working state and is one of the recovery fallbacks (i once get same as you now). I don't remember if GR8NET should be boot with any key pressed for this to workk, but i think the manual should have info about that.
This is fixable. Good luck!
FPGA update should be done in Mode 0 as I recall, this means you need to use an external storage device that doesn't use the GR8net storage possibilities, like a MFRSD or Carnivore or a floppydisk
Thanks guys, I suposse I have to boot in mode 0 (hold cursor down) and use external floppy. I'll try.
Or, you can install updates directly from Gr8Cloud, then you don't need any floppy. I did it this way.

Ah, that's also a way to do it, will try this for fun

No way, _NETBROWSE is not working for me.
