The picture sharing platform known as msx.pics is continuously growing. Two years after its initial launch, MSX enthusiast Luppie's site already has over 50 registered MSX users and hosts more than 2700 MSX-related pictures.

You are very welcome to join in; it is easy to upload pictures via drag and drop. Subsequently, these pictures can be used to upload in a forum like MSX Resource Center's own forum or trading sites like eBay.
Signing in is not required, but registered users have the advantage to be able to assess pictures from other users and the possibility to create folders containing their own images. It is also possible to create private folders or folders that are only accessible via direct links. On top of this, embed codes like image links, thumbnail URLs, BBCode or Markdown are available as well. The built-in search allows you to have quick access to hosted pictures and a counter gives you an overview of how often your image has been viewed.

Whoah! Hamlet's been at work there? Wink
Oh yes great, got it's own favicon now as well (handy, for let's say certain MSX quizes.. ;-))

One thing I'd like to see would be the ability as guest to edit or remove your upload. This isn't possible I believe?

Big smile Thanks man!
You have to contact a admin to edit a guests picture. Those god-like beeings have the power to move, edit and delete images, which is not given to mortals. Pray or use the contact form. Or ask Luppie, Meits or me. Smile

I settled a link in the dutch, english, japanese and german Wikipedia.
Each of these had given a positive feedback, except the german one, which rejected the link.
I'm in discussion with the mentor of this page, but I feel a lot of ignorance. Of course this is just MHO. Well, Germany did not seem to be a MSX country after all this years...

From the haydays we remember Germany for HSH and Mi-Chi. That's about it. Though it's fun to see that MAD's public domain archive was full of German little tools and educational software. Then it was silent for twenty years and then there was you. So yes, I agree with you Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

msx was forbidden in germany for a long time. it was on the list of bad products (mostly becourse of piracy)

In the dark ages of german history it was only allowed to own one computer per all people, so Zuse developed the Z series, which was very poular for young germans that time. As there was only one machine per generation, piracy wasn't that thing, but become more popular in the early eighties with Commodore. But as the germans loved Commodore (we had a developing office from C= in Braunschweig) nobody invented. C= was our Philips, if you know what I mean.
Around 1984 I found MSX computer in HiFi shops, locked with the stereos behind shelfes and Commodores in malls, surounded with kids. Like japanese cars, eastern products have had a bad start. Until the Walkman.
Grundigs 'BeatBoy' was half as cool, believe me. Sony rocked the market. And that shiny HitBit was sold for (todays value) 150.-€, reduced from origianal 500.-€. Jack loved the german market and he also reduced the price of his models.

Commodore, girls and McDonalds was all we wanted in 1984.

I'm not sure to understand the joke? Or maybe that's not a joke? Anyway, I'm curious about the story behind that Smile

Ah, Konrad Zuse build the Z3 in 1941, in a similar reason the rocketdrive was invented by von Braun to build missiles. One of my fellows here meet Zuse several times in the 80s. Zuse told my friend Manfred that he had a computer in his parents living room 50 years ago, the Z1. All of the Z's were so huge that there was only space for one in Germany at one time, he said with a smile. As he was the only geek, he owned the only Z. That's the dark age story, not more.

Congrats to 5k(!) pictures and 100 registered users. It's getting big.
I do not know any 8bit picture database that size.
