DIP 3 - red cinch select
0 = data recorder input/output <--- Ohh Nooooo, now we can't complain about that anymore.....
1 = sound output (emulated sound only)
It has a clock, it just forgets the time after you turn it off. Then again, which MSX software doesn't work if the date/time is not correct? But yes, you can still complain about it, so it serves at least that purpose. Might be more useful this way even right?

Yeah, I did it when I had my F700 and I had to get a faster diskdrive, 60Hz, etc. It was no the faster way but as it worked I did not mind.
Anyway, I was testing OCM and it surprised me in the good way, since I did not have problems with most of tested software.

a - Of course you can run cartridge games on the OCM, as it has 2 cartridge slots
b - Instead of an autoexec.bas, one could also program the favorite default config in FPGA. Or perhaps an RTC-on-cartridge?
A RTC-on-cartridge could be nice (especially for MSX1 games!)... After all, some other "Computers" of that era missed a Real TC. Only available as a add-on board . I think that some circuit with time could be useful for video or audio synchronization , I am not sure if demonstration programs and games used this as a feature ...
There is a real time clock emulated in the OCM, only thing is it forgets the time when you turn it off. It will work for computing synchronization timing for line interrupts or something though.

Another question: I noticed that white colour with the composite signal is "uneven", its shades vary from very pale blue, greenish, yellowish. In VGA mode, however, it's perfect. Did you notice the same with yours?
I always used S-Video or VGA. I have tested composite video and you are right. It seems there is something wrong.
Different colors are shown depending on the place there is a white pixel. I tried other colors (red, green blue) and some parts of the letters are missing, like if there is something wrong with the resolution.
I have received my OCM a few days ago and noticed exactly the same. Tested with two TV sets, white letters are anything but white. Not able to test the S-Video but the VGA seems ok. Is there any solution to this problem ?
You know, NTSC=Never The Same Colour . It's the drawback of the original japanese OCMs...
Use the VGA or even the RGB feature on the same connector.
