I am not so sure if this has been asked before, but does someone know the type of connector on the back of the Pioneer LD player to allow it to be controlled by the PX7? The MSXFAQ mentions the pinouts, but not the type of plug on the LD player? asking for some one on the FB group

The I/O port is a cable with 2 connectors DIN 8-pin type B (pins arranged in a U.).

There are also two control cables with mini jack connectors. I don't know if them are the mono or stereo type nor how the wires are connected.

Edit: I found that:

I've made a few of these before. The type-B connectors were very hard to find; the pins have to be arranged in a horse-shoe shape. Let me know if you need some, I have a few here which are unused.

Only three pins have to be connected. One is for sending commands to the laserdisc (Ext Control); the laserdisc responds by lowering ext ack.
If the command is seeking, ack will be low while seeking, until the seek is complete.
The int/ext is used by the laserdisc player to mark it is going to stop playing, so the msx should should stop super-imposing. This is not strictly necessary, as far as I know noone of the msx laserdisc games rely on this.

So that's pin 1, 4, 7. I connected the ground as well (I guess this is necessary).
