There is also an English Sega Genesis (IIRC, Sega anyway) version of XZR II called "Exile", but in that version they 'censored' the story and changed virtually every name of people and cultures featured in it.

On top of that, it has the fantastic original soundtrack replaced by horrible music.

@sd_snatcher: Don't forget there is a feature in the game that you can enable so you can talk to monsters. Otherwise some translations might be left out. Good luck on finishing the translation. Hopefully you can create the needed room for the complete texts.

@Rikusu: sad to hear you don't like translating MSX games as much as back then. Hopefully this changes for the better in the future. Your translations were very good.

I enjoyed a lot playing Golvellius in English! And I had to admit that once that I bought the game at Woomb, I somehow managed to load it on the real MSX for a more pleasing experience. Anyway, the work you did with the booklet is awesome! Thumbs up! Wink

He already knows of your translation DJANGO. Nothing wrong with another one, right? Especially if it will turn out to be one of high quality.

Dear DJANGO, do you see a way of combining your great coding / text implementation skills and dedication with the translation work of people having proper understanding of Japanese?

Absolutely great translated titles could come from such alliance, don't you think? Smile

Well, if anybody is in for a small project: I still have a translation of the texts from Famicle Parodic 1 from way back when. Can't find the (compressed) font so I can't alter it for tight places. There should be a complete european set IIRC. So if someone is willing to finish that project you're welcome to do so.

@Randam & pitpan: Thanks for your nice words! These surely help in getting motivation back. I've read too many not so nice words in the past (which didn't have directly to do with my translations, but still...).

@Django: I understood that you use Excite or Babelfish for your translations. I have a master's degree in Japanese, so I think there's a high probability that my translation would be a little bit more accurate. The thing I can't do, however, is implementation or text routine reprogramming and that's also something that's necessary to make a good translation. That's why I made this translation for sd_snatcher Smile.

Yes, it's best to combine forces when doing high quality translations. And... meh, I was going to give a blunt opinion on DJANGO's work too, but I won't. DJANGO, if you enjoy doing these translations, remember that that's the most important thing, keep it up. Smile

Oi Rikusu, could you translate the pic here? http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/13
The guy that translated Mashou no Yakata for me didn't want to, unless I extract the script, which I'm too lazy for. :P
