Yes, I was just thinking that maybe the loader goes mad if some RAM page is from another mapper or something like that... (All mappers do not work in whole 64KB space) How ever this seems all ok.

i guess when you have 2x mapper and read back value for registers fc..ff you may get wrong value for pages above 128kb.
but i dont know if symbos uses this ( not recommened ) method.
..
you may try a third msx if you can...
..
when you write other application work fine have you used , in these ones, more than 128kb , just to test lot of pages .
...
maybe i am saying something foolish :
but you might have not exactly the same version of msxdos2 as the one used to test symbos, since symbos uses msxdos2 as "memory mapper setup" some variables might not be setthe same way ....

Thank you very much guys for your interest. I have already tested 2 MSX 8250 (one has 7MHz Z80) and one MSX Sony F700D.
I have the problem to any of them.

I have already bought a MSX Sony F700D from e-bay :-) I will receive it shortly.

As everything works fine, BIOS is up to date, it must be a software problem... hmmm
Is there any memory test tool to check it further ?

Could someone send me at dir_marillion at hotmail . com a zipped file with his symbos that works with sunrise and 4mb ram ?

Nobody sent me his Symbos distr, np.

Today I checked both cards to a third msx 8280, with the same result.
I strongly believe that LPE-4MB-V4 and SunRise IDE CF is not a compatible combination with symbos at it's current latest version.

I read in many forums that LPE-4MB-V4 works well with other memory expansions in Symbos.

So, the only I can do is to wait a future possible bug free ?? version of symbos ...

Then try to load SymbOS with the 4MB but without the Sunrise CF, use the diskdrive. I think Philips and Sony ones are compatible.

That's a good idea Smile

I will try it at the end of the day.

it may worth a try.
but you will be in msxdos1 if you remove the cf interface it may change the way mapper is setup ( for the best or the worst )

Hi, I received the new Sony MSX and the thriller continues.

I run the SymBOS from floppy disk and it also freezes, so the problem is not on sunrise ide cf. As it freezes to both Sony and Philips, this is not a problem with the computers. It seems that the problem is a software setting (that I do not know) between Symbos and LPE-4MB-V4...

Leo, my SymBOS must be ok, as it runs properly without the 4mb card.
It's downloaded 3 or 4 days ago from the latest .zip that exists on SymBOS homepage.

I will send it when I go home, later today or tomorrow.

Do you run SymBOS direct, without any additional switches like f31 ... etc ?
