Personally I'm very sympathetic towards the Pirate Party & their goals. But the problem with a single-issue party is you only have 1 vote, and -like most people- I consider other issues more important than the issues they stand for. For example income inequality, how much (or little!) cooperation within Europe is good for the NL, how to curb future healthcare costs, etc, etc, etc.
I don't know where (or even if) they stand on those issues, which to me reads: they might 'shout loud' when their issues come along (and likely wouldn't make a difference, being a very small party), and remain silent or vote the wrong way when important issues are on the table. And besides Patriek none of the candidates on their list rings any bell whatsoever.
With established parties I know where they stand on those important issues, I've seen some on their list in action a number of times, etc.
If you would get 100 points to distribute over a # of parties of your choice, chances are I'd drop some points on them too. Unfortunately that's not how elections work.
They'll probably get some votes, and some voters might pick them as an anti-vote in a "none of the above" style choice. 
But I guess I need to see them actually make changes once or twice - then I might vote for them in future elections. Either that, or come up with a complete program on those other issues too. And present themselves in a much more professional manner. And include some more experienced politicians in their ranks. Much of which I don't see them doing any time soon... 
So your vote was lost, and all parliament decisions are made by other people than the person or party you voted for. IMHO that's about the same as people who don't vote at all because they're fed up with politics - and then bitch about politicians doing the wrong things.
Point is with a vote you hand out power. Not much, but it does count. I agree that politicians can be a bunch of lying bastards, but still I prefer the law-making power to be held by party X rather than party Y. The lesser of evils is still better than the worst of evils.
Vote for a person or party if you want to see them in parliament. Vote for some other party than XYZ if you feel they are the worst of the lot. Don't vote if you think the rest of your countrymen will do a better job at steering the ship. Vote strategically if you think that will help put the right folks in parliament. But don't complain everything goes to hell after putting in a 'random' vote... 
I think there won't be any PP seats in NL when the voting is over.

But animals are a group of creatures who need some kind of governmental legislation. Who's to say the PvdD got entirely new voters? Perhaps their voters were disappointed GL voters. Either way, nature and animals are at least subjects which people can identify with. How many not-so-tech people can identify with the PP? The tech people who would potentially understand the PP's stand points can manage on their own, as I pointed out. In other words, imho it's a political party which has no relevance these days. Maybe in the future, but not now. Because: "It's the economy, stupid!"
And you can't even skip those parts. They practically force us to download the AVI!!!!
