Must say this MSX pickup-trip was a bit epic! I forgot all reasonability this morning and decided to do the trip in one day. My GPS forecasted 5h30 driving time, and indeed advised my to pass by Luxembourg and Belgium to go for Rotterdam (but he prefers to pass by Germany for Nijmegen).

Anyway, the start of the trip was fine, until Belgium on the E411, where I ended up on the consequences of that truck accident.: a gigantic car & truck jam to take the deviation, I lost around 1h in that.

So I was too late to see Poltergeist in person (he had to go for another appointment), but still picked that wonderful MSX package!

I planned my trip back in order to avoid Recogne in Belgium where the accident happened, and came back on the E411 just after Recogne... where 2 other trucks did crash in the opposite direction! (consequences of the heavy traffic load today I guess). One of the trucks was really badly smashed.

I hoped that I would be fine after reaching France, just to enter one of the worst thunderstorm I've ever experienced when driving. It was really raining cats and dogs and that lasted 2 hours. Everybody was driving at 80kmh (it was already night of course), the cars were more swimming than running! I had all the time to meditate on the fact I have an appointment Friday at the car repair shop to change my front tires that are badly used...

Anyway, that was worth the adventure. I'd like to thanks my official sponsor Snickers(r) and RedBull(tm), and most of all, a big "Thank you" again to Poltergeist for that great gift!

Whaaaat? I did not make the link when leaving in a rush today! Even if I was suspecting someone who's been quite active on the MSX scene consering all the nice MSX stuff here. And darn, I missed the occasion to see and talk to the man... Maybe I would still be in Rotterdam now if we had started talking about MSX :)
