Are you using the standard screen 2 mode, or "undocumented" (screen 1 + 2) mode?

You could also record the video with openMSX itself, preferably using the -doublesize or even the -triplesize options. That gives a high quality lossless video at 50 or 60 fps.

Standard screen2 mode. I read that undocumented mode duplicates sprites and so it isn't very useful for game coding...

Manuel, how can I record videos from openMSX? I saw in catapult that I can get a screenshot... If I can record videos directly from openMSX I wanna know how!

Push F10 to open the console and
record start myvideofilename -doublesize
(or triplesize)
then
record stop
when you are done.

This is all true, but I don't wonder why new users can't find these features... If you look anything starting with "video", "save", "screen", "capture" or "store" (that might be the first ideas to try) you get no any further help.

..which is why I've made an openmsx simplified wiki here... Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

Haven't checked how accurate it is by now, it's been years.
