Before, there was a tab called contact or message on each member's profile page that I could send personal message via there. But I am no longer seeing it. Was it abolished or have I configured something wrong?

Unfortunately we had to shut down this function because it worked very unreliably.
Since we could not find an adequate way to correct this, we decided to do without this function.
We are working on reinstalling it in a later update of the site.

Oh that's bad, there's no way to call someone who isn't looking at the forum anymore.

If a user does not make his contact details public in his profile there is no way to contact him at the moment.

You can always ask in the forum if anybody knows their contact details. Manuel helped me with that on several occasions
