10th September would be my preferred date.
Hey guys, this sounds great! Count on me for sure.
I don't really have any problem with any date as long as we've got enough time to get ready for the event.
The RCM opens their doors at 10 am, probably get there earlier to set stuff up, or maybe I might go on Friday if that is allowed. I think I mentioned that I donated the HBF9S MSX2 to them, they have someone who will have tried to fix it. I don't know if anything has been done with it yet?
10th September, I will request it from the RCM, hopefully, they are available on that date. I will confirm it.
Great!
I received the following email earlier today, the chillout room is a cosy place, obviously, you could look at anything in the museum at the same time. I doubt there would be many "public guests" since the children will all be back at school by that date. The chillout room is better for security as well.
Hi David,
The 10th September might be possible. Obviously what we have to be careful of is it inteferring with our public guests, most of which won't even know what an MSX is?
What we could do for the day is shut down part of the chill out room. It would probably give you space for half a dozen machines? Any more than that and it would have to be a private booking which we would have to work out a price for you.
Our normal entry price is £7.50 for adults and £4.50 for children.
Regards
Andy
Are we going for the 10th Sept then?
I am away this Saturday but should be able to go there next Saturday to confirm the date with Andy, at the RCM. I have an MSX2+ that I can take, along with a Carnivore 2, and MFRSCC+, and another wonderful cartridge that I am not sure I'll ne able to make use of. The RCM also has a large number of MSX software and machines.
Please can I have an indication of the numbers, please? There is plenty of free car parking, and public transport goes near to the museum. The 21 bus from the city centre goes past the RCM, ask to get off at "Claymill Road", it is a short walk.
I am not sure about our friends from the EU, I do know that all restrictions between Portugal and the UK have been lifted, I do not think there is an issue between Ireland and the mainland of the UK, apart from transporting goods? Not 100% sure, is anyone coming from Ireland?
Just indicate below if you are attending, thank you!
I've got plenty of stuff that I can take, hopefully by then I will have my VR and 'darky' sound cartridge.
No need for a VR, the 'darky' could be fun?
I've emailed Andy at the Retro computer museum, I will visit the Saturday before to look at the space, and see the MSX units they have.
Their website does state they have an MSX TurboR, I have an MSX2+, I think they have an MSX2, and they have MSX1's. Including a PX7, no laser discs though
I've only just seen these last few messages on this topic with a date from last year in the topic! I must say that the date September 10 this year couldn't be more inconvenient for me, so I wouldn't be able to come, but it looks like you've now fixed that date, so that's that!
