Hi all!

My son is interested on learning Basic. Last week we started programming on some MSX computers and he was having a blast! However, we don't have the instruction manual of any MSX computer, and it would be nice if he could read the instructions by himself! However, he only reads German.

So, if anyone has an instructions manual (with some explanation of basic) in German that I could buy, I would very much appreciate it!. I would even buy a combo MSX + Manual if both were localized in Germany.

Thanks!

The book that came with the HB75D is superior for teaching kids BASIC. It's made in short chapters, illustrated in comic style. I will send you one, please let me know your address.

Hi Salutte, I can only confirm this! I learned my first steps in the world of computer programming with this book, when I was 11 years old. Looking back it was this combination of comic book and learning material, that made it so easy to access for me as a kid. OK, this was nearly 35 years ago, and media competence of the kids today is surely a different one.
But if your son already "caught fire", this is the best BASIC learning book I can imagine!
Best regards from Frankfurt/Main

You're talking about the book with the robot-dog on the cover, right? I also took my first steps on programming with that one at the age of 10 or so. Sony HB55P and Spanish version in my case, but wonderful memories anyway...

I would love to see the German version too, since I now live in Germany (Frankfurt, too). Is there any available scan somewhere?

Hi Tama, yes the robo-doggy book!
I still possess my original versions (also the MSX-BASIC manual) from 1984, here they are:

So you live in Frankfurt now? Please PM me, maybe we can get in contact and I can send you a copy/scan of the german version.

I do have a few scans of German MSX programming books:

https://download.file-hunter.com/Books/DE/

And I have the English scan of the aforementioned book:

https://download.file-hunter.com/Books/EN/ and select "Introduction to MSX BASIC (Sony).pdf"

But if someone would be able to scan the German version of this book, so I can add it to the archive, it would be great!

That would be really great. Thanks a lot, Daniel. BTW, it's nice to meet another MSX fan in FFM. (Yes, I still live here, though unfortunately all my MSX stuff is still at my parents' home back in Spain.) :-(

I also have a digital version of the BASIC-doggy book in Spanish, scanned by myself, in case @tfh is interested.
