From the creator of last year’s entry Landing, here comes another animal-themed game for MSXdev21.

This time it’s an educational one, intended to train your typing-skills with, partly inspired by MSXdev’06 entry Word Invaders. It’s designed to test you how well you can type under stress. You can read all about this entry on the MSXdev.org website.

Contestants have until the end of August to submit their entries. If you are enjoying this MSXdev game, why not consider donating to the price money? 100% of the donations will go to the game developers.

The MSXdev21 contest runs from Jan 1st to Sep 1st, 2021.

oh, wow, this is a weird one! What is the goal? I could not figure it out given the description on the MSXDev page. I type the sentences, but I do not understand how is that related to the score, etc. also, it seems we can control the worm left to right, so we need to "collect" or "avoid" the flying things?

Hello Jipe, You can exceed 16Kb quite easily by following the method below:

I just got contacted by the game creator (who is still awaiting to have his account activated and cannot post here yet), asking me to post this info, just in case someone has the same problem as I did trying to figure out how to play:

- For an explanation of the game and how it works, see the readme at: https://github.com/ZeeeightyASMer/Bookworm

- And for how to play the game, here is a gameplay video: https://vimeo.com/519246749

And now that I know how to play, going to give it another try!!! :D

I can't see an open member request in the queue, so the author should contact me. Something seems to have gone wrong here....

Hi,

Thanks all.I'm finally on this site:-) I hope you all like my new MSXdev'21 entry. I think I made a non-cliche style very original game with my Bookworm entry. So Santi's comment above about it being weird/original is a compliment to me.
I also wanted to make a game that included having a lot of moving or animated sprites with interesting music simultaneously playing, and the main player sprite to be animated and as large as possible.

I do not have any job anymore (solely as a consequence of corona virus),
so I am open to programming jobs (just private message me soon).

Stay safe.
