Just wondering, does The Castle/Castle Excellent actually use sprites at all other than the player? If so, which elements you think are sprites? This game was designed from the ground up around the MSX's tile size it seems Smile

You can reveal the sprites in openMSX with the sprite locator tool.

And WebMSX with ALT+D.

And meisei and Emulicious have very intuitive VRAM viewers! I use them a lot!

Did you see the openMSX debugger VRAM viewers already?

Nice. So yeah, the player, explosion after crushing enemies, score after collecting treasure.... and... just the left line of the logo box at the top?

I saw something at a point. But it is not really there anymore, is it? Downloading the debugger from openmsx.org gives me no tools like that, as far as I can see (except bitmapped ram).

Try the binary from GitHub Actions autobuild.

But to just know where sprites are located, you can use the sprite locator tool, which can be started from the toys and utilities submenu from the OSD menu.

You mean like this? But there are only Debian and minGW builds there. No macOS.

Should be easy to build on MacOS, I guess.
