after flashing the OCM-PLD v2.3 [2010.04.13] by KdL I'm trying to run some MSX2+ dsks in my 1chipMsx
for example mkid or sonyc report no V9958 found
As far as I understood in these forums the v2.3 has an implementation of V9958 and should be able to run MSX2+ games, am I wrong?
I'm not sure if I did anything wrong or I'm missing something
I would be very happy if some of you could help me a bit with this, thx!

I thought that v2.3 was a complete MSX2+ update for OCM. What's missing to be it? Certainly Laydock 2 runs, but badly, on a no-upgraded OCM but runs correctly on a upgraded v2.3 one.

(the 2008.05.11 stable version, the development version doesn't include a .pld binary AFAICT - this must be for people who have Quartus installed & know how to generate a .pld file from the source).
I suppose this means there are 2 'forks' of the 1chipMSX firmware: the one linked above, and KdL's releases. I've tried both, the above is indeed MSX2+ but I got the impression that KdL's v2.3 is more polished / compatible. So if MSX2 is enough & you prefer stability / compatibility over features, get the KdL v2.3 firmware. If you want MSX2+ and don't mind a glitch here & there, pick firmware from above page.
Btw: above 2+ firmware shows black screen +/- 8 seconds before the MSX starts booting with 2+ logo etc (with KdL's firmware this is waaayyy shorter). Is this normal or is there some h/w problem with my 1chipMSX? If 'normal': WTF does the 1chipMSX do in this time? :-?
That HRA version has ROM's packed, so it needs to decompress the data before it can start. You can avoid that delay by putting ROM's to memory card. The unpacking is done only at first time, so reboots work fast anyway.
