Fony gets old, Futuredisk 42

Hi all,

For the occasion that Eggbert was finished 10 years ago, FONY had a little meeting.
We even played Eggbert on a real MSX
So while doing that I found a nice package with Futuredisk 42... which I forgot to read in 1999...
So now I'm wondering, was this the last issue? Was there ever an official ending of the Futuredisk???
Am I still a member??????

If there's anyone who knows, please let me know

You are still a member, dude. You even paid for it I remember the letter we received stating they were going to stop and that #50 (?) would be their last issue. I was SOOOOOO happy, coz I knew that meant they would continue longer than any other diskmagazine

Unfortunately, they never really made their promisses

If you have paid until the last issue (50) like me, you're still a member. We've confronted some persons of Team Bomba as well with that as they were one of the people behind Future Disk as well. I think there was already a thread about the sudden ending of Future Disk.

hey hey, I made up for it by giving DISK8 my unreleased texts

to sum things up:
FD 42 was the last released issue
There hasn't been an official ending (yet?)
You're still a member

It's been more than a year ago that I heard about the progress of the final stuff, so I wonder if it will be finished... I won't/can't promise anything, unfortunately...

AFAIK Issue#43 is still on the desk of Koen Dols... This is supposed to be a SouthPark edition. It contains a game "Kill Kenny" (guess what the purpose is ) and a nice selector with some funny effects.

I finished this stuff way back in the spring/summer of 2000. I don't know what happened with the stuff after that.

There was also a Spanish game that would become #44, as far as I recall.

I don't think Koen is interested anymore in finishing the last 8 issues.

An old idea of Koen and me was that the last three issues (#47-#50) would be one single game... a game in the style of The Zoo called 'Derrick: Aus der Reihe', in which the famous German detective had to solve some very stupid murder mystery. Knowing that we had some digitized pictures of (in)famous MSX-ers, probably some of you would have played key roles in the game.

I'm a little confused about the last editions of Future Disk.

I don't have edition 42 .... but :
- Future Disk 41 : Almost Real
- Future Disk 43 : Sir Dan

So, is it really a number 42 or must I understand that number 43 is this number 42 ???

erm you're right.. 43 (Sir Dan) is the last edition. Issue 42 does exist too, so something must've gone wrong when mailing it.

I was not subscriber to the Future Disk, but i've buyed a MSX disk package on eBay ... so, this package was not complete ...

No way! Jan Willem?!? Whazzup? Long time no mebotheringyouoverthephone! You okay buddy? Nice to see you on these forums! Drop by from time to time... I would ofcourse like to make the zoo game if it means we get to mock Stefan Boer. And actually, I have a game engine lying around (well, it's not all finished) that could easily serve the purpose. I guess no-one else is up for the challenge though -meaning Patje-.

But anyways, nice to see you on these forums...
