i think i have found why "M" breaks

if i change to the floppy drive
nextor asks (one time only) "insert disk for drive d: and strike key when ready"

if i have done this once
M works
if i didnt do that "M" hangs upon chaning to floppy

i dont know WHY nextor asks to insert a floppy but i think its the reason "M" breaks if it hasnt been done before

A weird question from me again, is it possible to rewrite the autoexec.bat because it's very annoying that mm boots every time

how i did it;
copy the contents of drive a: to a floppy
edit your autoexec.bat as you see fit
getdisk the floppy and name it ROMDISK.DSK
then flash like this ;
OPFXSD ROMDISK.DSK /id

done

I did the same. I would advice this way also. [saying: copying the original romdisk, make changes and/or skipping/deleting/ammending things (you don't want to use or want to use different), instead of creating a whole new romdisk yourself (and experiencing missing necessary tools afterwards)].

I deleted the romdisk. All the utils are on my sd card anyway. And not being able to write is confusing to me.

I made a total new romdisk, but I do agree with Latok... You don't just need the romdisk, cuz if you delete it, SD #1 will boot instead... I might wipe it as well, because everytime I want to alter something to the romdisk it's quite a hassle...
I insert my SD cart with the romdisk.dsk into an emulator and go alter stuff there...
What puzzled me is that the original romdisk gives a disk i/o error when trying to access it in an emulator Oo

Indeed the ROM disk is not necesary if you put the right files on your SD card. But I think it it cool to have it out of the box.

@Meits: I made ROMDISK.DSK from a 720KB partition. Then I saved it with FDSAVE. Probably that's why you get those disk i/o error.

I agree with Guillian. If you know which tools you use regular, it's quiet handy to load them through the romdisk at start up. I also agree the romdisk not easy changable.

Its 100% virus free though (and will stay that way unless you put one there yourself)

Is there anything that can be done abut the "insert disk for drive d: and strike key when ready" message
it seems to be a standard MSX thing (on a MSX with two drives) but i dont see the use of it.

Also i would like to use the "ralloc on" command for use at BOTH my SD cards but so far it seems i have to put in the command twice for each drive where the second time the command replies for both SD cards
so first it replies for b: drive
second time it replies for B: and c: drive

It replies which drives are done, so if you do B: first and C: next, it'll add B: to the outcome, cuz that drive has been ralloced as well...
