Just copy all the files to a folder using your PC.

So.

1. Format a SDcard with Fat16
2. Make some partions like: SD-MAIN and SD-SOFT
3. Copy all the files to the partition "SD-MAIN"

4. Copy your own files (games ect.) to the partion "SD-SOFT"

I'm having problems with my MegaFlashRom

* Often it seems the cart is not detected, and the MSX will just boot straight to basic.
* Sometimes while in the recovery menu the software will freeze in the middle of something - for instance it should say "Are you sure?" but I just get "Ar" and a frozen computer.

Are these common? Any solutions? I don't have these problems with other carts.

Edit: I left out that _sometimes_ when it is booting only to basic, you can still hold the up arrow and get to recovery. But not always - Just as often this doesn't work. Then after a while it just works again.

I have not seen these issues myself or in the forum. The MFR is a bit more sophisticated than a plain ROM game and I have had issues with e.g. GR8NET on a specific type of machine where it worked fine on most other machines. My first troubleshooting step would be to try it on a different MSX computer, so you know if it is the cart or the MSX causing the issues. Not sure if that is easy to achieve for you.

I think it is worth cleaning the contacts with isopropanol or similar thing and observe if issues are solved. There might be bad contacts

I have released a new version of recovery menu: RECOVERY V1.14
This version will automatically skip the firmware of some MSX models:

  • FS-A1
  • FS-A1F
  • HB-101
  • HB-201
  • HB-F1
  • HB-F1II
  • HB-F5
  • HB-F9S
  • Hitachi MH-H3
  • Mitsubishi F120
  • Mitsubishi ML-G1

This means that MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD will boot into Nextor in those models without holding any key to skip the firmware, or having to remove/disable any IC in the computer.

Install it typing in command line:
OPFXSD RECOVERY.ROM /i34

Please, report any problems you could find.

I'm still new to the MFRSCC+ SD and I'd like to update to the new Nextor so do I just flash the Nextor-2.1.0.MegaFlashSDSCC.2-slots.ROM and that's it? How do I update the Nextor.SYS file? Do I need to? Sorry for the questions.

Note that the firmware skip didn't seem to work on the fs-a1 for "pintz and Amiga".

I tested the new feature on openMSX and it worked fine.

I have tested it on my FS-A1 (black) and it works fine. So not sure by it does not work for "pintz and Amiga"

Note that this feature is enabled only in MFR SD 512KB RAM.

Probably it will be easier to use "Nextor-2.1.0-beta2.MegaFlashSDSCC.2-slots.Recovery.ROM" and update it from recovery menu.
- Copy to an *EMPTY* SD card the file Nextor-2.1.0-beta2.MegaFlashSDSCC.2-slots.Recovery.ROM
- Enter recovery mode (holding cursor up while booting)
- Select F4 option
The recovery process should take a few seconds

In case you are using the ROM Disk. An easy way is to copy all files from A: (ROM Disk) to B: (SD card), and then update the files you need (i.e.: NEXTOR.SYS). Now create a dummy file named NEXTOR.DAT (i.e.: an empty text file) on your card.
From now on, the cartridge will boot from your card.
