Is it possible to say, which mass storage devices are currently the most used ones?
This is probably still the Sunrise IDE interface and the MegaFlashRomSCC+SD, if I am not totally wrong (well, at least I own them, lol). What other devices are still heavily in use by users worldwide? Padial MMC/SD? Maybe Beer IDE in South America? Or do many MSX users only work with SCSI interfaces?
Don't know, if there ever was a poll about this topic here.

...oh and how many MSX2/2+/tR users (%) do probably only use the internal disc drive?

I use the OCM built-in SD interface most. I intend to move the files to a MicroSD-card with adapter, so I can also use the MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD to access my data on my other MSX computers.

I have used the Sunrise CF interface for a very long time, but I moved all data to SD-cards now.

Before then I used the Sunrise IDE interface, however I would not want to go back to bulky power supplies and vulnerable physical media (I’ve had more HD crashes in my life than I want to count).

I haven’t used a disc drive in a long time, however that’s mostly because the OCM doesn’t have one. I do have a lot of disks though, so if I’d even want to play or back them up, I would have to get out one of my MSX-es with a disk drive (or buy an external FDD interface).

I have two MEGA-SCSI units. One from ACVS/Ademir Carchano and one self built using Tsujikawa's original building instructions (LZ93A13 chip). Three shoe boxes full of 3inch DD disks for the MSX ... lol

The same as Grauw: OCM build-in SD interface with adapter for MicroSD-cards which I also can use with MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD. I use the diskdrive mainly for userdisks like SD Snatcher for saving gamestates, emergency backup with files to get system online again (like ROMdisk MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD), and for games which don't work with EP.COM (OCM) or OPFXSD.COM (MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD)

I presume that MegaFlashROM SCC+ is just a MEGASCSI without the SPC chip and a SD cart instead as mass storage...
Right ?
EP.COM is also MEGASCSI's floppy emulator control tool.

MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD is not similar to MegaSCSI.
It is similar to a slot expander with a MegaFlashROM SCC+, a MegaSD, a memory expansion (512K model) and a recovery tool.
EP.COM is not compatible with MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD.

I thought it was based on the device into OCM ... lol

I think you are confused with the Padial SD interface. That one has an adapted version of EP.COM...

I don't know anything about the Padial SD interface ... Does it use the MEGASCSI firmware ?
