Hi all, just got an nms 8220, that the seller assured me works perfectly, however the picture through the scart lead is awful, it is very blurred and has ghosting, i am using an rgb socket on my tv as the normal scart socket gives sound but no picture at all with this machine, could it be that my scart lead is not full rgb? Sad

You have no other SCART based MSX to compare with?

Hi I tested it on a normal MSX monitor from Philips and it had perfect image. Have you tried it with coax/antenna to compare? I know about philips msx stuff that the soldering can become crunchy.

Use a thick scart cable I have some thin long cables at home which give poor image while thick shorter ones give a clear image. I didn't try on a real tv as I own about 5 good old msx monitors.

My previous msx was a gv 8235 that died completely, it was perfect through scart on a tv, i assumed this was the same, i will try and get a thicker scart lead, i am also trying to get a scart lead made for it that works through the monitor socket on the back, if anyone knows where i can get one that would be great Smile

If you use the same SCART lead and TV as with the 8235, it should also work fine with the 8220.

Im not sure about that. Maybe the nms 8220 has a lesser signal. But anyway if you want you can sent it back Wilson and I will refund or maybe send you a vg8235 instead.i will try on a tv before sending and use another carrier Nishi

Onno that would be brilliant if you could do that, unless you happen to have a lead that i can use through the monitor socket to connect it to a tv?

There should be a coax Connection that goed into the antenna/cable port of your tv on it. Then 'search' for the msx signal like You would search for bbc and other channels?

I heared the 8220 had the same lousy scart signal as the vg8020 of which i got some. Will try those on a modern tv.

8220 has a good signal by scart

Coax is not possible in the uk, audio or sound are splitted, so you have to change the rf modulator.
You need a tv with scart, rgb, mostly only the first one.

And the answer is already in this topic, first post....

Cool
