How to configure MegaflashRom SCC+ SD extension on openMSX?

Hi,
I've been trying to use the MFRSCC+SD extension on OpenMSX 0.11 but I wasn't able at all.
Selecting the extension and starting the emulator doesn't display any message related with that(or pressing up when booting). Checking on the xml configuration I saw an empty rom tag... Should I set there the kernel.dat file location? I did it but no luck so far. Any help with this? Thanks!

No, you have to handle it as a real MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD with an empty flash. So, use OPFXSD to flash the kernel etc.

Yes, I did it.!
Probably there is a faster way but what I did was to boot with 2 extensions: ide and MFRSCC+SD ... the hdd provided by the ide extension had opfxsd.com,nextor.rom,dskrom.rom,romdisk.dsk and recovery.rom (some files are larger than a regular floppy disk,so I put them on that hdd partition).
After flashing all of them as described on the MFRSCC+SD manual it worked brilliant!

I have spent 2 afternoons and I am yet at zero!

Can I use the same commands to update the firmware of my real MFRSCCSD?

 OPFXSD nextor20.rom /I
 OPFXSD dskrom.rom /I1
 OPFXSD romdisk.dsk /ID
 OPFXSD recovery.rom /I34

Second question, the Nextor file contains 5 rom files:

Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.Recovery.ROM
Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.ROM
Nextor-2.1-alpha2.StandaloneASCII8.ROM
Nextor-2.1-alpha2.StandaloneASCII16.ROM
Nextor-2.1-alpha2.SunriseIDE.ROM

For my openMSX made use of Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.ROM.
I suppose for my real MFRSCCSD must use one of the ASCII8 or ASCII16, but which of two and why?

You can use the same commands on a real MFRSCCSD as well.

You should either use the Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.Recovery.ROM or Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.ROM. The other ones are for use with other flash cartridges.

If you want to flash it with OPFXSD then use Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.ROM. You can also flash it from the recovery, but then you need the Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.Recovery.ROM one.

On real MFRSCCSD hardware must use StandaloneASCII8 or StandaloneASCII16?
What is the difference?
I want update the firmware for my real MFRSCCSD.

On a real MFRSCCSD yo do NOT need to use the ASCII8 or ASCII16 versions. You need the Nextor-2.1-alpha2.MegaFlashSDSCC.ROM one.
The ASCII8 or ASCII16 are for use in *other* cartridges.
