I guess it's protecting the second cartridge slot.
V-30 one disk drive
V-30F two disk drives
I think only the V-30F exists (as indicated in Japanese wikipedia) and the second drive was optional.
I guess it's protecting the second cartridge slot.
doh.. how obvious. *blush*
Anyways, regarding "MSX mysterys", are there many "unaccounted for" machines ?
Why are these machines regarded as mysteries? The information is there for anyone to see (for anyone who cares to look for it, that is):
MSX Magazine (December 1985) pages 164-165:
The article says that the V-30F comes with one disk drive as the standard configuration, and there was an optional kit available for the user to install a second disk drive.
so, I guess there is no V-30 without F?
There is no persuasive indication on a eventual V-30 without F but following 2 models exist, there are still several evidence.
- MSX2 V-25 (64K RAM, 64K VRAM)
- MSX2 V-30F (64K RAM, 128K VRAM) (second FDD is optional)
Well, you can always go check the "MSX HARD" section in every MSX Magazine since the first one and see whether there's a V-30 or not. They've reviewed practically every model released in Japan.
Posting here about whether there was a V30 or not, without actually going and looking for information, is wasting everybody's time.
gdx, what you put on the Wiki regarding V-30, what is your source? (What is the diff between V-30 and V-30F according to you?)
Manuel, the Wiki page about V-30 speaks actually about V-30F, I guess you've not checked that !
I saw both a V-30 and a V-30F article.... or am I wrong?
