Can someone please help me out?

My MegaFlashROM was working fine just a few hours ago (flashed a few roms), but at the end I wanted to Flash Metal Gear 2 and it would just refuse to work. Even SDSnatcher and Ys 2 worked, but this wouldn't. By the time I had 4 more ROMS to try out, the device stopped redirected me to the purple file browser thing... now it's just putting me inside Nextor BASIC (a blue menu that looks like CMD) and I literally have no idea what to do. I need that purple menu (I think it was called Nextor 2.00) but I have no idea how to go back to that. Can someone please help me to either get back in there or restore it? It's driving me insane. I have no idea what to do.

Just some info:

I have a 1gb micro SD and my MFROM is a 512k + 2 SD Slots

type mm to go back to multi mente (that menu)...
or type OPFXSD MG2_SS.ROM /U (or whatever your solid snake is called)

When you flash solid snake from multi mente it doesn't add the /U which is required with this game...

Have you tried pressing the up cursor when booting, then f1 in the menu then y, then reboot.

Should I have certain files inside my sd to do that, like the opfxsd.com from the megaflashrom site? I'm gonna try it soon I just hope it doesn't give me an annoying syntax error.

The UP key menu is baked into the cartridge and always available.

It does sound like you lost your ROM disk or something. You can get it from the msxcartridgeshop site and re-flash it using OPFXSD.

Reflash romdisk using OPFXSD? Could you explain how to do that? I'll be home soon to test out everyone's methods.

By default the MFRSCC+SD comes with a built-in boot disk in the ROM, this amongst others contain the files for DOS2 (aka Nextor, A:> prompt) and Multi Mente (the purple menu). If you erase the ROM disk (e.g. from the UP key menu), it will boot from the SD card in stead.

Then, if the DOS2 (Nextor) files are not present on your SD card DOS2 will not start and you will end up in Basic, and if Multi Mente is not there (and configured in AUTOEXEC.BAT) it won’t boot into Multi Mente after DOS2 has started.

So, you can restore the ROM disk, or copy the files from it to your SD card. The precise procedure is described in the manual.

p.s. From the UP key menu, do not erase the kernel, or you’ll have to put it back before you can use the MFRSCC+SD again.

Before I proceed with anything, I assume these are all the files I need? I have 2 kernal files because one is from a thread I was earlier, and the other is from the mfr homepage. Everything else is from the MFR page and the 4 metal gears are just roms I will test when I can finally flash a game.

I would recommend to boot holding ESC key to skip any ROM flashed in the cartridge. That should allow MultiMente to boot.

If that does not work, hold cursor up key while booting and select F1 option in recovery menu to erase the ROM flashed in the cartridge. Then reset or press ESC.

If that does not work either, erase your SD card and copy in it KERNEL.DAT file from MSX Cartridge Shop web.
Then enter recovery menu and select F4 option to reinstall Nextor and ROM Disk.

Now you can copy MGEAR2.ROM to the card and load from command line (press Q to exit MultiMente) using:
OPFXSD MGEAR2.ROM /U

I'm just confused by your post because when i go to the recovery menu (holding UP right?), and push F4 to install Mega Flash kernal I always get a "kernal not found" while waiting for it to search.

I also tried "mm" and "OPFXSD MGEAR2.ROM /U" on the nextor basic command line and I just get a syntax error. My SD card has the files listed above.
