Great work! You have my feedback already
There are some glitches, sometimes, when scrolling down. Sometimes when I stop going down by chairs they are visible on the screen and disappear when I move again. But you did a great work. The game is really awesome and playable
I've pre-ordered the digital edition and it delivered right on time. Game seems great, msx keyboard arrows work well (LOL)
Sometimes, at the very beginning, running away from the boulder, I die when falling off the cliff. Seems if it is a memory game, same action should yield the same result.
I'm using a GR8BIT, and cannot get joystick/controller controls to work at all. I have tested a QuickShot joystick ( has a little slide switch on the bottom for Atari/MSX/CPC/Sega modes ) in MSX mode, and it works great with old MSX games like Bosconian, but fails horribly with joytest, hidtest, and Risky Rick. Does nothing in Risky Rick, and in hidtest or joytest it tends to read directions, but the test apps seem to try too hard and infer it is a light gun or something else...
I also have a Sega Genesis 6 button controller ( sorry Mega Drive to most of you ) with a joymega adapter which also works great with all the old games where button B and C act as MSX buttons 1 and 2. However with Risky Rick, to start the game I have to press start, and then A works for the other action, but Rick is stuck trying to go left. It is like it is detecting joymega and deciding to use the special buttons, but it is only half implemented. And start becomes the jump button which is a terrible choice. Since the game design is for 2 action buttons, it would be better to ignore the joymega and let it read like a normal MSX joycard with button B and C acting as 1 and 2.
Oh, and all the joystick 1 port isn't used??? it seems it has to be plugged into joystick 2 port? I haven't run across any other MSX games that behave like that.
So, previously in this thread, there was talk of a compatibility thread opening up to work out issues before committing ROM to cartridges. If we only buy/bought the digital version, will we also receive the final version?
FYI: I'm using a GR8BIT, and I've never seen controller compatibility issues with any other software.

I played the ColecoVision version of this a lot. This is pretty similar, so far (haven't played in a while), but I like the sound effects better.
well, I can use Joystick but only one button works. I can't jump using Joystick, I have to press a key... I am able to play using keyboard but I think a lot of people would enjoy the game better with full joystick implementation
and just noticed that if I press space to start than space will shot and second key will jump. But if I press second key then jump will be associated to spacebar and other key will be used to shoot. A little weird

That's a feature. And it is written in manual. I was wondering about this too and mailed the developer because i didn't read to the end of page
i didn't read the manual at all (LOL) and mailed the developer too, asking him if it is a feature and in that case maybe add a menu to select buttons' function. Wrote him about the others little fixes too and he answered me that "the best will done to improve the game". I trust him ^_^
Oops, I didn't read the last post by ArcadeVision clearly enough... they only want feedback by email. I tried email, but got no response... trying another email.
To bad they don't want to leverage this forum for visibility. I'm really just asking for clarification from the vendor as to what was implemented for controller support (and stating some astonishment). I have read the manual.

Ok, got a response on second email.
They say standard 2 button MSX controller should work. They don't know why for some it is joystick 1, and others joystick 2. Maybe that's an MSX standards issue?
I guess I need to wire up a SMS to MSX adapter. I've read that they work, but that doesn't make any sense given the common/ground pin is different, and button 2 pin is different.
