They are clams!
Ouch
I always called them hamburgers when i was little. But can the hamburgers/ clams/ stones that you need to pick up in the empty cave be restored as well or is that correct. Iirc the c64 version didnt have such an empty cave.
My friends and I always called them stones, but they're actually clams (it's said both in the manual and the back cover).
The way the caves work in the MSX version is interesting: When you pick up clams from one cave, they will also be gone from the other caves, meaning that if you clean up one of the caves completely, the rest of the caves will be out of clams too. Well, almost anyway. There will always be at least 2 clams in the caves at any given time, no matter how many times you clean them up.
Protip: Each clam in the cave is worth 2 clams when picked up at higher speeds.
@araubi:
This patch is awesome.
There's still an issue, though... just like the original, the patched version doesn't work on a Panasonic A1-WX MSX2+: it hangs during the load process, presumably due to slot layout issues. Easy to reproduce in openMSX.
Any chance you and FX could fix that as well? I suspect it won't work on a TR (via loadcas) or on a One-Chip MSX either.
Thanks!
Oh, and a note: the Eaglesoft CAS version does work on a WX, but it requires shift on boot to remove the disk drives.
Can you patch also the ROM version?
I have the rom with the following CRC32: 5F74AE0E
I patched it by replacing the byte at offset 4906 (was 00, needs to be 04).
Patched CRC32: F848DFB5
To be verified if it works or not.
Verified the patched ROM from ~mk~. It's working.
By the way, I noticed something when playing through these fixed versions of the game: If you get to the ending with the help of the level codes, the ending will loop forever. You only get the proper game over screen after the ending, when you play through the game legitly from start to finish.
